Private Reserve is our top indoor tier — hand-trimmed, slow-cured, and with the strongest COA numbers we sell. Exotic flower lives up to its name with rare genetics and bag appeal. Greenhouse sits below both on price. Here’s how the three tiers actually differ, and which one fits your budget.

Every tier below lives in our THCA flower collection, and every batch ships with a lab report you can pull yourself. No medical card needed. If you’ve stared at two jars with a $30 gap between them and wondered what you’re actually paying for, this page answers that with numbers, not adjectives.

Private Reserve, Exotic, and Greenhouse: What Each Tier Actually Means

Three tiers, three different reasons to buy. Here’s each one in plain English.

Private Reserve: Indoor-Grown, Hand-Txrimmed, Slow-Cured

Private Reserve is the ceiling of our lineup. It’s grown indoors under controlled light, trimmed by hand instead of machine, and cured slow, which protects the terpenes that machine-trimming and rushed drying knock off. It has to clear the same bar on looks and smell as anything labeled exotic, plus tighter trim, a longer cure, and the strongest COA numbers we carry. Browse the Private Reserve THCA flower collection to see current batches and their lab results.

Exotic: Rare Genetics and Loud Bag Appeal

Exotic flower earns its name from genetics and bag appeal: rare cultivars, a loud nose when you open the jar, heavy resin. Exotic isn’t a growing method. It’s a breeding claim. Some exotic batches are indoor, some are greenhouse. The tier name tells you what’s in the jar’s family tree, not what room it grew in. If you want the full breakdown of what separates a true exotic from a relabeled commodity batch, we wrote a full guide on what makes THCA flower exotic. Shop the exotic THCA flower collection.

Greenhouse: The Value Play

Greenhouse flower grows under the sun with the shelter and control of a greenhouse roof. You get much of indoor’s quality at a lower price, because the grower never pays for full-spectrum lighting. It’s the tier we point most daily smokers toward. See the greenhouse THCA flower collection.

THCA Potency Labels Run Hot — Read the COA Instead

Fewer than 6 in 10 flower products contained what the label promised. And when labels were wrong, they were almost always wrong in the brand’s favor, according to a 2025 study of 178 retail hemp flower products. That’s not a knock on any one brand. It’s the case for shops that publish batch-level lab reports and let you check the math yourself.

The 0.877 Rule: Turning a COA Into a Real Number

Find the THCA percentage, multiply by 0.877, add the delta-9 line. That’s total potential THC. Example: a batch testing 26% THCA with 0.2% delta-9 works out to about 23% total. Then check the batch date and make sure the sample passed for pesticides and heavy metals. Every COA we publish shows all three: the cannabinoids, the contaminants, and the test date.

What You’ll Pay: The Real Price Ladder

Price tracks cultivation cost. Indoor costs the most to grow, greenhouse less, and open-air smalls least of all.

  • Private Reserve: From $13
  • Greenhouse: From $22

The price jump between tiers buys cultivation and cure, not just a bigger number on a jar. And since independent testing shows labels run hot more often than not, the smarter question is which tier’s COA you trust. The flashiest sticker in the shop won’t tell you that. If budget is the driver, THCA small buds are the same flower in smaller nugs at the lowest price per gram we sell.

Which Tier Fits You: Three Buyer Profiles

The daily smoker. You burn through flower consistently and price per gram matters. Greenhouse is your tier, and smalls stretch the budget further. You’re paying for smokeable quality, not jar appeal.

The weekend connoisseur. You want the jar that smells loud the second you crack it. Exotic genetics deliver that. Read the premium THCA flower guide before you buy, then pick the cultivar that matches your nose.

The “show me the lab report” buyer. You’d rather have a verified 24% than a claimed 32%. Private Reserve is built for you: top indoor cultivation, hand trim, slow cure, and COAs you can pull batch by batch before you spend a dollar.

THCA Flower Legality Right Now

Under current federal rules, hemp-derived flower with less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight is legal, and those rules run through November 2026, when the definition changes to count THCA toward the 0.3% limit, per the 2025 summary of the federal framework. State law varies. We don’t ship THCA to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon, or Rhode Island, and our shipping policy lists every restriction before you check out. No medical card required to order; see our no-med-card page for how that works.

Federal law doesn’t set a minimum age for hemp yet, but we card everyone: 21+, no exceptions. Some states like Texas now require 21 by state rule, and we apply it everywhere we ship regardless.

How We Verify Every Batch

Every batch we sell goes to a DEA-certified lab for cannabinoid and contaminant testing, and the COA gets published at our COA library — matched to the batch number on your jar, not a generic “representative sample” PDF. Hemp is a real agricultural industry now. U.S. hemp production hit $739 million in 2025 per USDA data, and a market that size attracts shortcuts. Our answer is batch-level transparency. If you want to audit a jar yourself before buying, our guide on how to spot quality THCA flower walks through exactly what to check.

Darryl H. put it better than we can (Verified Purchase, 07/24/2026): “You really can’t beat Asheville Dispensary when it comes to the intersection of quality and price. They seem to have found the sweet spot of high quality and affordability.”
