The Art of Tea with Kane Hosted by Plant Bar

Join us for an engaging class exploring the beauty and tradition of Chinese tea service, alongside the unique teas we proudly carry at Plantbar. In this session, you’ll learn how to properly taste, brew, and enjoy a variety of teas — from preparation techniques to flavor notes. Whether you’re a seasoned tea drinker or just getting started, this class is designed to be fun, approachable, and full of knowledge to deepen your appreciation for all things tea.

About the instructor: Kane is a born and raised Chattanoogan. When he stopped drinking in 2023, he wasn’t necessarily looking for something to replace whiskey but as a former bartender he knew he didn’t like most mocktails or alcohol alternatives on the market. However when he was introduced to the Gonfu style tea services that are served at Plant Bar, he experienced depth of flavor and nuances that he had only experienced before at whiskey tastings. The art of growing and processing the tea is infinitely fascinating and with hundreds of years of history behind it there is plenty to nerd out on. He hopes that in this introductory course to tea will ignite the same curiosity for the Camellia Sinensis plant that he experienced!
